Experienced, industry-agnostic wordsmith and copywriter in really good, plain English.

I have 15 years’ experience in editing, proofreading and writing clean, vibrant copy across a multitude of deployments and sectors; from pitch documents and commercial agreements for blue chip companies to brand and fundraising film scripts, via press releases for interior designers, marketing collateral for luxury properties and website copy and customer communications for independent distilleries. I can proof and polish CV’s, personal statements and cover letters, precis medical research and - once upon a time - hand wrote 350 Christmas cards (for someone else).

I’m passionate about tone of voice, so you always sound like you, and I’m a stickler, so you can rely on it being right.

I have a degree in Law, the post-graduate LPC and I’m a member of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders.

Forager’s Gin launch; extract, “How to Taste Spirits”

Beers, wines and spirits all start with fermentation; the biochemical change that realises the alcohol in these drinks. Essentially, a sugary liquid - with the right nutrients and in the right environment - allows yeast to grow, a byproduct of which is alcohol.

Many different “fermentables” could introduce the sugars and nutrients. Some types of spirits are obliged to use a certain fermentable - such as rum, which must use a sugar cane derivative, and whisky, which - in most countries - must be derived from grain. Gin is slightly more relaxed on this point, and does not require that the alcohol is derived from a single - or specific - fermentable, so some of the variety in this (our favourite!) spirit category stems from distiller's choice of a specific fermentable to match the style of gin they wish to create. This options the use of grapes, potatoes, grain, or molasses.

Fiskens

Fine Historic Automobiles; Christmas Newsletter

We have enjoyed participating in a number of outstanding events throughout the latter part of the year, not always blessed with fine weather - but then there’s no such thing as bad weather with old cars, the trick is to wear the right clothing!

At Goodwood Revival, Gregor raced the famous ex-Protheroe E-Type “CUT 8” in the RAC TT with Peter Hardman and hugely enjoyed taking an impressive third overall in all-Jaguar D-Type race driving the ex-Joaquin Palacios D-Type in what was a very memorable afternoon. Going head to head with Gregor in the TT, Rory drove the famous ex-Sebring AC Cobra with Aston Martin Works driver Darren Turner.

At Salon Prive, Fiskens proudly exhibited the beautiful 1913 Turcat Mery and were thrilled for its new owner to come home with a class award.

We teamed up at Spa Six Hours to campaign an original Ford GT40 on the historic Belgian Grand Prix circuit, battling some very wild weather. In spite of the treacherous conditions, the team were pleased to cross the line safely in a race that was ultimately red-flagged due to the deluge.

In the final few weeks of the year, Gregor was privileged to have been invited by Chris Scott to co-drive his father’s very special 1896 Lutzman on the Veteran Car Club’s London to Brighton rally, in torrents of rain that failed to diminish the thrill of driving such a car. Requiring plenty of TLC and equal amounts of grease and patience, Gregor rated the experience of crossing the finish line after eight hours one of the highlights of his career.

In warmer climes, the Argentine Mille Millas took us from 30 degrees to not far off freezing over four days of stunning and unforgettable terrain and a wonderful time spent with our many Argentine friends and clients; a perfect way to round of a year of events!

ORGIIS

Great Green Wall; partnership launch

Africa’s flagship initiative to combat the effects of climate change and desertification, the “Great Green Wall” refers to a patchwork of productive, green landscapes across North Africa designed to address the challenges faced by the people of the Sahel and the Sahara brought about by drought and degradation of natural resources. The project involves over 20 countries and the collaboration of 23 regional and international partners seeking to help communities mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change, supporting the sustainable management of forests, rangelands and other natural resources.

Baobab trees grow across Africa and can live for up to 5,000 years. Many Savannah communities chose to centre individual homes around a baobab tree, providing shelter, food and water for animals and humans, but migration to cities and other countries in recent decades left the baobab endangered; communities simply forgetting about their value.

ORGIIS supports 35 communities in northern Ghana and Burkina Faso to harvest and process their baobab fruit - considered a superfood internationally - and this partnership has provided vital access to a market for the fruit to be sold outside Ghana; generating a new and sustainable source of income for the women who look after the trees and helping to preserve the natural environment.
